Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club & The Primary Club are pleased to confirm that the annual Jim Maxwell Plate fixture will be returning to Waverley Oval.
The fixture will take place on Sunday February 12th from 1pm on-wards at Waverley Oval.
The plate was first contested in the 2019/20 season with Waverley Oval hosting the first iteration of the match, in which Easts won.
The fixture is contested in commemoration of Jim’s Presidency of both clubs.
The Primary Club of Australia is a registered charity founded in 1974 by a group of cricket lovers whose fundamental aim was to give those with disabilities the opportunity to engage in physical activity. This came off the back of the charity’s establishment in England 50 years prior.
After a brief COVID interrupted break from the clash, the two clubs are looking to make this match a yearly event, raising awareness to noble cause and paying tribute to one of the most famous voices in Australian Cricket, Jim Maxwell AM.
