Waverley Oval to get new synthetic nets

09-Sep-2014

In a win for cricket participation in the local area, Waverley Oval will have two new synthetic practise nets built by the end of this year.

They will be located near the existing synthetic wickets. In addition, the two existing nets are being refurbished, which is underway as we speak. We have received a grant from the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation for $25,000, which will cover half the project cost of $50,000. Waverley Council and CNSW and Malcolm Turnbull have also made meaningful contributions which means we can fund our share from internal resources.

The new and refurbished nets will give our coaching staff greater flexibility, reduce ball wear and tear and give opportunities for our Junior teams to train at Waverley Oval.
