EASTS FINALISE FIRST-CLASS COACHING LINE-UP

20-Aug-2014

Former Test player Greg Matthews has re-joined the club he once played - as a spin bowling consultant - finalising Head Coach Michael Bevan’s senior coaching structure.

Bevan is returning for his second season in charge but has new staff in 2014/15, which include assistant coach Murray Creed, fast bowling coach Steve Nikitaras and now Matthews.

Creed, is the creator of online coaching program Cetrewicket.com, and was a member of the NSW Blues squad and played first-class cricket in South Africa. He also captained UNSW to a limited-overs triumph. Creed specialises in batting coaching and will work individually with players throughout the season.

Nikitaras was a feared fast bowler in NSW in the late 90s and early 2000s and played Shield Cricket for Western Australia. Coming with an old-school approach to bowling Nikitaras brings a wealth of technical expertise and will work with the quicks through the season.
