Clarence optimistic ahead of Parra clash

By Adam Bagnall

Easts Dolphins First Grade captain Greg Clarence remains optimistic ahead of his side’s round 2 match against Parramatta in the Sydney Grade Cricket season.

Ahead of the Dolphins’ first home game of the 2015/16 season, Clarence emphasised the need to build on good starts after a number of top order batsmen including Ian Moran (63) youngster Matt Condon (49) and Clarence himself (63) managed to get a start without going on with it.

“We just need to be little bit more disciplined, particularly with the bat, to have three guys in the top 4 get 50, or thereabouts, you’ve really got to go on with it so we can build a better innings.

"Training has been good, the guys are nice and busy, which is excellent, so preparation wise, we’re good to go.”

Last season, Easts defeated Parramatta by six wickets in a two day match where they chased down a score of 335.
