A Message from the Club President

21-Aug-2021 Hi Dolphins Cricketers, Parents/Guardians, Coaches, Managers, Volunteers and Supporters.

We are of course in very challenging times, and we wish everyone at Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club a safe, healthy and comfortable time in managing this period.

Normally at this time of year, cricket kits are dusted off and pre season training and preparations have commenced for a new and exciting cricket season commencing end September/early October.

Sadly at the moment, this is not the case.

The club is however working closely with Cricket NSW, and through the NSW Government in navigating as much cricket to be played as possible this summer.

The commencement of the season remains in the hands of relevant NSW Public Health Orders. We will update the club with details as they come to hand.

Cricket NSW and the club are strongly encouraging vaccinations to expedite the commencement of the season. (Age criteria to be advised by the NSW Government).

In terms of Registrations, the club is committed to refunding any fees paid but not expended should extended parts, or the full season, not be possible.

So please do keep the Registrations coming in!

On the international stage, I can’t wait to call another Ashes Series here in Australia this summer and a historic Test against Afghanistan. Its going to be an exciting summer!

We take heart that the Test Match at Lords between England and India just completed was played in front of full houses each day. Hopefully this is the norm again around the world soon, in safe and healthy conditions.

May the magnificent game of cricket again soon be our local community benchmark that is all things great around competition, the spirit of play, friendship and fun.

Take care.
